Our rapidly growing business seeks an experienced and motivated B2B Saas Commercial Director to drive growth in South Africa and internationally. Key overseas markets include the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and UAE.

As Commercial Director, you will play a key role in the company’s growth initiatives. You will take complete ownership of the overall commercial, sales and marketing functions, achieve sales targets and be responsible for our growing team and expanding our SaaS business.

Job Description

Stock2Shop is looking for an experienced leader to drive sales and grow a team of dynamic sales professionals. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a key leadership role in a growing company. We are looking for an entrepreneurial individual who is a self starter and who thrives on challenges and is looking for an opportunity to take their experience to the next level. This is a senior level appointment, and the successful candidate will work closely with the CEO and CTO/Founder to drive the company forward.

In addition to your responsibility for Sales & Marketing, there will be additional responsibilities consistent with being part of the senior management team.

As the Commercial Director, you will be responsible for engaging with senior and mid level executives and helping them understand how Stock2Shop can create new efficiencies and impact the bottom line for their business. This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing SaaS company and help shape and scale the sales and marketing organisation. We are looking for driven, energetic and detail-oriented people who are passionate about implementing solutions that make a difference for our clients. This individual will be in a key client-facing role and take ownership of all revenue generation for the entire company: building, managing and developing a high-performance SaaS sales team; creating a methodical, data driven sales process; filling and driving the sales pipeline; and supporting the closure of deals across all industry verticals. In addition, you will have overall responsibility for the marketing efforts of the company, working with a number of external partners to ensure the marketing strategy is executed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to generate a consistent stream of quality leads, leveraging both organic and paid strategies for optimal outcomes.
  • Monitor and manage the sales pipeline in HubSpot, ensuring leads and opportunities progress efficiently through each stage, optimising conversion rates and sales outcomes.
  • Develop and refine sales strategies to align with company objectives, while utilising HubSpot to forecast future sales and adjust targets accordingly.
  • Foster and strengthen long-term relationships with key clients, ensuring their needs are consistently met and feedback is integrated into service improvements.
  • Equip the sales team with up-to-date product knowledge, effective sales techniques, and the necessary tools to boost their performance and close deals efficiently.
  • Oversee and optimise advertising campaigns on platforms such as Google Ads and LinkedIn, ensuring that budgets are used efficiently for the highest return on investment.
  • Drive strategies that amplify the brand’s organic presence to engage an audience and drive organic leads.
  • Work with various stakeholders to ensure the company’s website remains updated and optimised for search engines, while also coordinating with the technical team for any necessary enhancements.
  • Plan and coordinate with the necessary team members the creation of content.
  • Utilise tools such as HubSpot and Google Analytics to monitor key performance indicators, providing insights and data-driven recommendations to refine marketing strategies.
  • Lead and mentor the sales team.
  • Provide guidance and training to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Be able to define and execute on the company’s strategic vision.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement / optimisation from a sales standpoint.
  • Implement and maintain sales best practices, workflows to ensure smooth process.
  • Market Insight: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge and refine sales strategies accordingly.
  • Budgeting: Develop and manage sales/marketing budgets.
  • Partnerships: Expanding, driving and managing our Partnership Programme.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the technical support team to align sales. strategies and ensure seamless client onboarding and retention. Collaborate with internal product teams and provide feedback from the marketplace to help shape future development.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years' proven experience in B2B software technology sales with an emphasis on B2B SaaS sales.
  • Strong track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Ability to develop and lead a high-performing sales team.
  • Experience with both Inbound and Outbound sales, including lead generation and outbound prospecting.
  • Passion, drive and the desire to be a part of a growing team that makes a difference for both the company and our clients.
  • Exceptional and demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional in-person, verbal and written communication skills a must.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an entrepreneurial work environment where self-motivated individuals succeed.
  • Ability to think strategically, understanding the nuances of the SaaS B2B sales cycle.
  • A good understanding or working knowledge of ERP systems and/or ecommerce would be an advantage.
  • Proficient in using CRM tools like HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.
  • Experience in working across international markets and selling to clients overseas would be an advantage.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business/commerce, marketing or related field.
  • Experienced in working with Google Ads, Linkedin, and Google Suite of reporting tools.
