Workflow: Dolfin to Magento

Below is a brief overview of how Stock2Shop syncs product updates from Dolfin to Magento, and automatically raises online orders into Dolfin as sales.

There are two main elements to this Stock2Shop integration:

  • Product updates
  • Order automation

Product updates

Stock2Shop can sync vital product data from Dolfin to your Magento website. This means that your online customers will see accurate stock levels and pricing.

We can, in fact, sync any of your Dolfin product data to the Stock2Shop console. You can then choose to add enrichment such as images and other marketing information before sending it to the following fields on Magento:

  • SKU
  • Barcode
  • Title
  • Description
  • Images
  • Weight
  • Stock level
  • Dimensions
  • Product relationships (simple and configurable)
  • Categorisation
  • Multiple price lists
  • Any additional product information to attributes that exist on your Magento website

We can accommodate two types of workflows for this integration:

Workflow 1

Stock2Shop can sync updates to products that already exist on your ecommerce channel. This is useful if you already have a website that is populated with products. Stock2Shop will ensure that pricing and stock levels are kept up to date in near real time.

Preparing you data for Workflow 1:

  • Ensure that your Dolfin item codes correlate with the variant SKU codes on your website.
  • Check the “WebEnabled” checkbox for all items that are published on your website.
  • Check the “SellOnWeb” checkbox for all items that are published on your website.
SKU (Item Code) Description (title) WebEnabled SellOnWeb Sales price Stock on hand
WAL-001 Wallet TRUE TRUE 30 80
GGLOVE-LH Golf glove - Left handed TRUE TRUE 40 40
GGLOVE-RH Golf glove - right handed TRUE TRUE 50 40
HOOD-S Hoodie - Small TRUE TRUE 50 60
HOOD-M Hoodie - Medium TRUE TRUE 50 60
HOOD-L Hoodie - Large TRUE TRUE 50 70
HAT-CORP Corporate hat TRUE TRUE 50 80
WAT-001 Watch TRUE TRUE 50 1000
ACME-TS-S T Shirt - Small TRUE TRUE 50 20
ACME-TS-M T Shirt - Medium TRUE TRUE 50 25

Workflow 2

Stock2Shop can send your Dolfin items to your ecommerce channel where they are created. This is useful if you are launching a new website and want to sync your Dolfin data directly onto your website.

Preparing you data for Workflow 2: Dolfin has in-built architecture to accommodate multi-variant products. If your products are set up this way in Dolfin, Stock2Shop can sync them from Dolfin to your website where they will reflect as multi-variant products where required.

Order automation

In addition to syncing updates from Dolfin to Magento, Stock2Shop also automates the raising of orders from your website back to Dolfin as sales.

Order automation is especially important if you are selling on multiple platforms channels, because it means that Dolfin will know about an online purchase as soon as it is placed on one of your platforms. This in turn allows Stock2Shop to promptly alert your other platforms of the reduction in stock availability, virtually eradicating the chance of overselling.

Why integrate Dolfin for ecommerce?

Dolfin already controls your company’s inventory and pricing. With Stock2Shop, you extend that control to all the places that you sell online. By centralising the management of your product data in Dolfin, you will

  • Reduce duplicate data capture
  • Reduce human error
  • Eliminate the risk of overselling
  • Free up time for you to spend on growing your business
