String could not be parsed as XML

Issue:

Orders fail to sync to the ERP as the order data contains special characters.

Solution:

This error appears as a result of an order containing special characters that are reserved in the software used to allow the disparate systems in the integration to communicate. (For example: an “©,®, ™, /, ?, or ❤” symbol used in a product title, or added to the order notes)

  • Check the order for any special characters that may be contained
  • Once identified, reset the order in Stock2Shop
  • On the sales channel backend, remove the special characters from the order and update the order
  • This should then prompt the system to attempt to process the order again, without the special characters
